Logitech USB Microphone Review

Type – Microphone
Manufacturer – Logitech
MSRP - $19.99
Platform – PlayStation 2

For those looking to become the next superstar in their karaoke games, the Logitech USB microphone for the PS2 may be just the piece of gear needed to get you to the top. Besides feeling infinitely better than crooning into the headset, the USB Mic is a finely-crafted piece of hardware, feeling quite durable and beefy instead of cheap and flimsy. The grip is solid, and is comfortable enough for any size hand, and is much easier to pass around to the party during heated singing competitions in Karaoke Revolution.

During our playtime with Logitech’s mic, we experienced flawless performance; not a single drop of reproduced sound was missed, and there were never any cutoff instances or “bad connections”. We really liked the rubbery 15 feet of cord too, as it allowed us to pass the mic around without the need to over-stretch the mic’s cord or make someone position themselves closer to the PS2. The aforementioned rubber coat of the light-weight cord allows it to fall limp instead of being stiff and unmanageable when passing the mic along or dancing around by ourselves singing (though we’d never admit to doing that).

The $19.99 price tag is reasonable, assuming that you really want a microphone to replace your headset for your karaoke games. As of now, it only supports Karaoke Revolution and Karaoke Revolution Volume 2, but we’re sure that any future similar game will support the mic as well; it’s just a matter of time.
