Xbox "Game With Fame" Program Kicks Off Today
2/4/2004 at 6:08 PM

Ever dreamt of playing famous recording artists online? Microsoft's got you covered.

Microsoft today has launched the Xbox Game With Fame program in which gamers can compete with a number of celebrities and musicians throughout this year via the Xbox Live service. The first event in the Xbox Game With Fame program pits gamers against Big Boi from Outkast. Xbox Live players are invited to play Big Boi in a match in ESPN NFL Football. Over the next few months players will be able to challenge others such as Phantom Planet, The Strokes, The Crystal Method, Fefe Dobson, Kings of Leon, Korn, Hoobastank, A New Found Glory, and Thrice.

"Who better to launch Game With Fame than the hottest musical act around: Outkast," said Mitch Koch, corporate vice president of marketing for Xbox. "Just as Outkast's music crosses boundaries and connects people, Xbox Live is becoming a way to link different types of people from all backgrounds and walks of life."

"If you've listened to our music or seen us live, you know Outkast knows how to set it off, and we're about to change Xbox Live forever," said Outkast's Big Boi about the Xbox Live Game With Fame promotion. "Not only will I talk to the Outkast fans out there, but I'll show 'em how we get down in the ATL on ESPN NFL Football."

Those of you with Xbox Live and ESPN NFL Football can log online now and hopefully find Big Boi available for a game.
